On June 30th, the green fog descends over cities and densely populated towns all over the world, turning every man it touches into a slavering rapist and murderer. Every woman becomes their prey.
Alfie and Amber are holding a barbecue for four of their closest friends when the swirling green mist engulfs the popular seaside resort of St Ives, Cornwall. Amber and her girlfriends must fight off their horny, murderous husbands before doing battle against the rest of the menfolk in St Ives…
As the night from hell goes on, Amber will discover the truth about the sinister forces behind the green fog.
And the truth is more terrifying than she ever could have imagined…
This is an extreme horror / science fiction fusion. It is hardcore splatterpunk and not for readers of a sensitive disposition.
The Green Fog An Extreme Horror Novella eBook Sam West
An extreme horror story that could have only been written by a woman (Sam West is her pen name). The Green Fog depicts the fear women feel (for themselves and their daughters) living in a first world country where they're constantly being warned that all men are out to sexually assault them. In this novel, that fear becomes a disturbing reality as a mysterious green fog turns men into vicious animals whose only desire is to murder and rape. The fog that plagues the privileged seacoast town of St. Ives makes the events only that much more ominous. Near the end is an incredible twist; the final words chilled me to the bone.Sam West writes horror with a sense of purpose and meaning; more so than the typical blood and guts fare. Definitely a writer to look out for. But be warned, her writing contains triggering content.
The book also features a sample of her novel VICTIM. The opening pages are brilliant and intense and I cannot wait to read more.

The Green Fog An Extreme Horror Novella eBook Sam West Reviews
I really enjoyed this book .It reminded me of the early stories of Dean Koontz and Steven King. I hope Sam West starts writing longer books that you can really get involved in. This is an author that I recommend to my friends
.
Usual readers of Sam West will notice that this novella takes a completely different direction to the extreme horror for which he is known. This original tale has more of a science-fiction leaning but also manages to tap into every mother's instinctive need to protect her child.
Prepare to embark on a roller-coaster ride of a story. There are so many more shades of terror than you think.
I really enjoyed this story, I was captivated within the first pages. This is definitely extreme horror, not for the easily offended, but so well written and such an awesome storyline that I would recommend it to anyone who loves horror. I could not put it down until the final page. I'm a huge Sam West fan and he really upped his game on this one!
good reading
an interesting read
Very good book. Wished it was longer
Three friends, Amber, Sara, and Marjorie, are hanging out with their husbands at Amber's house, enjoying an evening barbecue while Jessie, Amber's daughter, spends time in her room. As the evening goes on, the husbands begin to act strangely, getting louder and steadily more rowdy. Then everything involving a connection - internet, radio, phones, 3G, etc. - ceases to work. Finally, as a strange, thick, green fog descends on Saint Ives, the husbands go insane, assaulting women sexually and violently. Amber, Jessie, and her friends must escape and try to survive, hunted by the three men and any other male resident of Saint Ives.
The book description on sounds like a stupid hentai storyline, but one thing I can always expect from author Sam West is that he gives you more for your money than you might expect. He's definitely underrated as far as extreme horror authors go, for the simple reason that he puts a lot more cleverness into his stories, rather than just focusing solely on shock and gore like others do. I encountered this with "Bad House" and "Mary Blake," and I definitely encountered this with "The Green Fog." Why some women are killed while others are permitted to live is explained, and while I figured it out before the characters did, it was still a neat addition to the storyline. There were some other details that I thought were clever, but since the read is so short, naming them would enter spoiler territory.
One thing that surprised me was how tame this story was compared to some of Sam West's other works. Although it's advertised as "hardcore splatterpunk," the description of violence isn't as bad as, say, "Dreamworld" (which had a detailed description of impalement). Likewise, while there's rape, there isn't that much, and it's not described in detail; it pretty much amounts to "he pushed her over and was done in a few minutes." I'm not saying violence or rape isn't disturbing in and of itself, mind you (in fact, I'm GLAD the rape wasn't described in super detail); I'm simply saying, as far as the "splatterpunk" subgenre goes, this isn't as bad as other titles I've encountered or heard about. Also keep in mind I'm not saying this AGAINST the book or Mr. West, it was just surprising. I will admit there is one scene in the book, at the climax, which did make me cringe; I won't give it away, however.
This popped into my at midnight, just as it became July 1, and I read it in perhaps under an hour. Like I said before, it's a short read, but it was definitely worth it. If you're into extreme horror, but maybe you want something tamer with a still decent story, try this one out.
